Princess
Cruises’ 2001 Europe season will feature 18 itineraries aboard four
ships, a full schedule of Princess’ popular cruisetour choices, and
the debut of the cruise ship Golden Princess, the eagerly awaited sister ship to the
line’s popular Grand Princess.
The new ship, which will make its inaugural debut in this
destination, will sail a season of Mediterranean cruises, taking over
the favorite Grand Mediterranean itinerary. Joining Golden Princess will
be Crown Princess, Royal Princess and Pacific Princess, for a total of
36 departures.
“Each season we strive to make our Europe program even more
exciting than the last, and I think we’ve accomplished this in
2001,” said Rick James, Princess’ senior vice president of customer
service and sales. “The vast array of itineraries and cruisetours,
plus our brand new ship, will reinforce Princess as the leader in this
destination.”
Golden Princess’ inaugural season will feature the Grand
Mediterranean itinerary made popular by her sister ship, Grand Princess.
The ship will offer 10 departures on this 12-day Barcelona to Istanbul
sailing. In addition, the ship’s inaugural voyage will take passengers
on a 12-day journey between Southampton and Barcelona. In September,
Golden Princess makes her first trans-Atlantic crossing on a 15-day
Barcelona to Ft. Lauderdale itinerary.
Crown Princess returns for a second season of European cruising,
reprising her two alternating 10-day Scandinavia/Russia and Baltic
Heritage itineraries sailing roundtrip from Copenhagen. The ship will
also offer a 12-day Rome to Copenhagen itinerary. In addition, Crown
Princess features two trans-Atlantic crossings, each with new ports of
call. For its spring Ft. Lauderdale to Rome sailing, Lisbon is added to
the Mediterranean calls. In August, the ship’s Copenhagen to Boston
crossing features an inaugural call at the fascinating city of Belfast.
Royal Princess will again offer a series of 11 Connoisseur cruises to
Scandinavia, the Baltic, the British Isles, Western Europe and the
Mediterranean/Aegean. In addition, the ship will add two 12-day Holy
Land itineraries.
Rounding out Princess’ European fleet is Pacific Princess, which
returns for its popular Holy Land holiday cruise, and will initiate a
new 29-day Holy Land/Africa/Mediterranean cruise in April from Istanbul
to New York taking in a wide range of unusual ports on four continents.
To complement these Europe cruises, Princess offers a schedule of
land tours that coordinate seamlessly with Golden Princess and Crown
Princess sailings. In addition, Princess’ Cruise Plus program offers
passengers on all ships the opportunity to enhance their cruise with
pre- or post-cruise land programs and hotel stays in port cities
throughout Europe.
Princess’ Grand Class Cruising® adds an extra special element to
sailing in Europe, with multiple dining and entertainment opportunities,
as well as one of the largest arrays of cabins with private balconies,
with more than 1,000 available.
